Video2PDF ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Video2PDF collects the following data to provide and improve our service:
- Device Information: We collect a random device identifier to manage your subscription status and app functionality.
- Advertising Identifiers: With your permission, we collect your device advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) to measure the performance of our advertising and understand which campaigns bring people to the app. On iOS you are asked to allow or deny this through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can change your choice at any time in your device settings. If you deny tracking, we still measure advertising performance in a privacy-preserving, aggregated way that does not identify you.
- Video & Image Data: When you record a video, all frame extraction, image enhancement, and PDF generation happen on your device. Scan videos, page images, and generated PDFs are not uploaded to our servers as part of normal processing.
- Subscription Data: We process subscription transactions through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not have access to your payment details.
- Usage & Product Analytics: We collect events describing how the app is used (for example, screens viewed, scans started, exports completed, and subscription steps) to understand our conversion funnel and improve the product. This includes session recordings that capture how you navigate the app so we can diagnose problems. Session recordings mask on-screen text and images by default, so your scanned pages and other content are not visible in them.
- Crash Data: We collect crash reports and related diagnostic information to keep the app stable.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the Video2PDF service
- Process and enhance your book page images
- Manage your subscription status
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Measure and improve our advertising, including attributing installs and subscriptions to the campaigns that drove them
- Respond to support requests
3. Data Storage & Security
- On-Device Processing: Image processing happens locally on your device. Your videos, extracted pages, and generated PDFs are stored only on your device unless you explicitly export or share them.
- We do not sell your personal information for money. To measure and optimize our advertising, we share advertising identifiers and app activity (such as installs and subscriptions) with the analytics and advertising partners listed below. Under some privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. See "Your Rights" for how to opt out.
4. Third-Party Services
Video2PDF integrates with:
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: subscription management
- Sentry: crash reporting, diagnostics, and session recording
- PostHog: product analytics
- AppsFlyer: advertising attribution and measurement
- Meta (Facebook): advertising attribution and measurement for Facebook and Instagram campaigns
- TikTok: advertising attribution and measurement for TikTok campaigns (via AppsFlyer)
- Backend infrastructure providers: subscription validation and operational reliability
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing its use of data.
5. Children's Privacy
Video2PDF is designed for students and educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app can be used by students of all ages as we collect minimal data that is not personally identifiable.
6. Your Rights
- Access: Request information about data we hold about you
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data by contacting support
- Opt-Out of Tracking: On iOS, deny or revoke tracking permission in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings. Doing so stops us from using your advertising identifier for measurement.
- Opt-Out of Sharing/Sale: To opt out of the "sharing" of your data for advertising described above, adjust the tracking settings above or contact us at support@video2pdf.ai.
- Portability: Export your PDFs at any time from the app
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@video2pdf.ai.
7. Data Retention
- On-device data: Stored until you delete the app, remove documents, or clear cache
- Subscription records: Retained as required by Apple/Google
- Crash reports: Retained for 90 days
- Analytics, session recordings, and advertising measurement data: Retained by our partners according to their own retention policies, typically no longer than needed for the purposes described above
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app. Continued use of Video2PDF after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
